Day 1 – Mendoza / Villavicencio / Agua de las Mañeras
Reception in Mendoza city and transfer to Puerto
Santa Clara, in the area of Villavicencio, 60 km from the city.
While preparing for departure, explanations will be given concerning
the schedule and proposed activities.
We begin a four hour cavalcade, stop for a quick lunch and continue
until we reach “Agua de las Mañeras” where we set up camp. After
resting we will enjoy an “asado” (barbecue) for dinner. The night is
spent in tents.
– Villavicencio / Paramillos
After breakfast we saddle our horses and start
riding. We ascend the Mountains of Villavicencio, crossing the
foot-hills towards Paramillos, from where we will appreciate the
high summits of the Andes Mountain Range, specially the peaks of
Tambillos and Aconcagua which stand out. Arrival at “Agua de los
Maralles”, camp, rest and dinner.
– Villavicencio / Ghost Town / Mendoza
After breakfast we saddle our horses and ride to “Paramillos”,
an old mining camp, exploited by the Jesuits, now a ghost town.
After enjoying the incredible scenery of the mountain range and the
Uspallata valley, we continue to “Agua del Cesar”, our last camp in
Day 4 - Agua del Cesar / Santa Clara
After breakfast we prepare for our last day on
horseback, and start our way back to Santa Clara. An open-air lunch
awaits us to close our four day cavalcade in the mountains. Transfer
to Mendoza city.
